Kothanodi (কথানদী) is an Assamese word that means the river of fables. The film Kothanodi was released on 10 October 2015 in BIFF and 16 September 2016 in Assam (India). The story of the film is based on traditional indigenous folktales from the Indian state of Assam. The film shows depict the tale of four women who face demons within themselves.

The film Kothanodi (কথানদী) won the Asian Cinema Fund’s Post Production Fund Award for 2015 and the Best Feature Film in Assamese award in the 63rd National Film Awards. It’s also screened at the 20th Busan International Film Festival.

The film was directed by Bhaskar Hazarika and written along with Dr. Arupa Patangia Kalita and starring Seema Biswas, Adil Hussain, and Zerifa Wahid in the key roles.
