How to add Background Color in PowerPoint

Follow all the steps mentioned below to add/change the background color of a slide of your MS PowerPoint.

PowerPoint 2007

1. Open PowerPoint 2007 with a blank presentation

2. Go to Design > Background style > Format Background

3. Now a format background dialog box will be open. Select Solid Fill > Color and choose a background color.

4. Click the Close button if you want to use the background color only for one slide or click Apply to All button if you want to use the background color for all slides.

In step 3 select Gradient fill or Picture or texture fill to use that fill option as the background color of the slide.

PowerPoint 2013

1. Open PowerPoint 2013 with a blank presentation.

2. Go to DESIGN > Format Background > Solid fill, then select a color you want to set as your presentation slide background-color

3. Click Apply to all button if you want to use the same background-color to all slides.

Here in step 2 choose Gradient fill or Picture fill or texture fill or Pattern fill to use that type of fill as your presentation slide background-color.
